The office of the local government Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government area was torched by thugs hours after the APC primaries concluded in Lagos. Our correspondent had earlier reported that violence marred the primaries as disgruntled elements within the party who were not happy with the results began protesting. This attack on the Amuwo Odofin local government Chairman's office is perhaps a fall out of the primaries. One cannot also rule out the opposition's part in this mishap. Offices burnt include the Secretary to the local government, and the DSS office.
Our correspondent also spoke to residents around the area who confirmed that the thugs attacked at around 12 midnight brandishing different weapons. As at the time of this report, the premises of the council is under heavy security as men of the police have mounted a barrier at the gate and in front of the office.
