A Lagos State Federal High Court has ordered the release of Omoyele Sowore, convener of the #RevolutionNow protest from DSS detention facility.
This is after Justice Taiwo Taiwo heared arguments from both the prosecuting and defence counsels on Tuesday.
He issued the verdict on the grounds that there was no order still in court and on the condition that he must deposit all travel documents within the next 48 hours.
The judge also ordered that Sowore’s lawyer, Femi Falana, must present him whenever the court needs him.
Mr Sowore who is also the publisher of Sahara Reporters, had been detained in the custody of the DSS since Saturday, August 3, after the secret police picked him up two days ahead of a nationwide protest he called against bad governance in the country.
He was later charged with seven counts bordering on treasonable felony and money laundering.
